READ WITH CAUTION — March 5, 2018

Written by Destiny Bergeron

She picks up my notebook and opens to an unknown page in my heart

looks up with those magnetic brown eyes and ask

which one is about me

I just laugh, shake my head  and say

which one isn’t

her eyes get really big as she fans through 350 pages

she says, you’re  kidding, I close the notebook and warn her

you might not like it

I don’t say much I try to show my love by the actions I make

Just saying it is cliche

I must make my feelings for you tangible in some way

whether it’s a kiss, my sincerity or in a bunch of nicely arranged sentences

the energy created when we are connected

is the blood of poetry

Combined with our star crossed faith, how we drift apart and together again

against lifes wind

no poet could resist writing it

So go ahead keep reading

And you’ll see how you feed

the Shakespeare in me

Make me strive to be a better me

You break my heart when you leave

You’ll see my insecurities

the fear of you realising you’re so much better than me

That you might find someone who more evenly matches your astonishing beauty

You’ll see, How I hide these fears

In fear that you’ll think less of me

The words I never say

In respect of our love

I put my fears on a page

insted of questioning our trust

right to your face

It’s not your fault

It’s my insecurities

They stay in my notebook

Where no one else can see

Poets cut, this my favorite poem

Fixed — March 4, 2018

Written by Destiny Bergeron

Rearrange my gravity

With the weight of your heart

Fixed in your orbit
You have wobbled my axis
And raised my climate

Disturbed my existence
With your astonishing presence
I’m Ieft with no defense
helpless to resist

My tides roll according
to your pull
My days are numbered by,
how times you light up my life
My Reason, what I want to discover and everthing I’ve ever known

Like the ancients followed and stars worshipped the stars                 I fallow her

Captain’s of Flow — February 28, 2018

Captain’s of Flow

Written by Destiny Bergeron

My fellow captain’s of flow

Those who hold words

As a treasure

We sail the seas

to find the stories

That speak to humanity

With our pen as our compass

And our hearts as our vessel

We traval towards the unknown

So no heart ever goes without the being heard

No character without an adventure

No hero without an evil to conquer

No truth left unturned

Or mystery untold

Our pens set the coarse

We find comfort in theses words

We are humbled by the wonder

Inspired by all thats left to discover

Literature in all its different forms from new to old is beautiful

Anomaly of Hearts — February 27, 2018

Anomaly of Hearts

Written by Destiny Bergeron

It’s beyond words

No metaphor

Or adverbs

No sentence exist

If you said you found one

You’d be lying

I got piles of poems trying

But there’s no defining

My pen feel helpless

And my heart is disappointed

With its every attempt

Fact is we don’t make since

But maybe the anomaly is

what keeps going

makes us defy

The physics that say

we’ll never make it

Roaring — February 23, 2018

The sound is heard first

As you get closer

You feel this trembling

Through your toes

Ominous yet beautiful

Like the clouds of storm

Shocked to life by the cold

Roaring full of winters leftovers

Reclaiming ground that we stole

Ripping ice from the shores

Grabbing anything that gets close

Stampeding towards horizon

With the weight of the winter

Powering the current

Awakening the earth

From the it’s season of slumber

Force — February 20, 2018

Written by Destiny Bergeron

So it’s a fight draw the lines

Choose a side

Wrong or right

Left or right

The stakes are high

But they only Care bout the bottom

how they can profit from our demise

The melting pot is boiling over

chop full of corporate greed

And the cries of poverty

Those oppressed by society

are led like sheep to a life

Of crime and tragic cycles

Hate bred into religion

Gangs bred into tradition

Fear is always the tactic

And money the objective

We need to know we are the 99%

They will never be greater than us

If we act together we can change our future

We are not left or right we are people

If we just believe what were told

We’ll  be devided forever

They can’t control our force if we move together

They can’t quiet our voice

If were all sceam together

No more left or right

It’s time to unite

and do whats right

Stirring The Pot — February 9, 2018

Stirring The Pot

Written by Destiny Bergeron

I  I’m lost in my thought

You ought not be that hot

caught up in all  you got

Call it what you want

Just plz don’t stop

I’m starting to plot

More things I should not

The heat you’re giving  off

Has got me all distraught

I’m about to raise the pot

Try to keep your shirt on

Or maybe not

Ok now I’ll stop

I wrote this because…Flirting is fun….

Daddy’s Rock&Roll — February 6, 2018

Daddy’s Rock&Roll

Written by Destiny Bergeron

One of my earliest memories
Sitting indian style wided eyed
Looking at my Dad                        with a six string
Across his propped knee
He’d always tell me shhh
Listen to the words, this song tells a story
As he strummed the melody
I got lost in the tales he told me
Even before could speak
I fell in love with beautiful words
Now I am grown and all though,    I wish I could play the guitar like him
I enjoy playing  with these words like a platinum artist

My Father taught me to listen and appreciate good writting in music and literature. This is one of favorite poems about him….this past weekend my Father  celebrated 13 years clean of heroin. His fight against this drug taught me to stay the hell away from drugs. I have 8 brothers and sisters my fathers most proud for not one of us ever repeating  his mistakes

Fear of Heights —

Fear of Heights

Written by Destiny Bergeron

I dont wanna hear bout tomorrow,

Don’t want your promises and forevers,

Keep your dreams,

and some day maybes,

Save me all the ways

you can save me,

All the possibilities of you and me,

are much more intriguing,

as a mystery,

I don’t need

your words to prove anything

Just treat me like a princesses,

Don’t take me for granted,

Or build me up so high all

so I can do is,

leave you disappointed,

I don’t  wanna fall!!!

l wanna be!!!! in love

Does that make since to anyone?

Lovers Table —

Lovers Table

Written by Destiny Bergeron

I know you’re real

so I’d  better know how to deal

You got quite the hand

I could fold right now

Let you take

what I chose to anti-in

Or I could have a chance

If the river holds

what I’m looking for

You want me to go all in

My chips aren’t much

but I worked hard for them

Lost too much before

so I know

Never leave the table broke

So I check baby

it’s your call

Raise the pot

only if you really want

Im betting on the flop

Hoping you won’t

take my chips and run
