Words Pour — March 14, 2018

Words Pour

I feel it start to perspire

Damping the walls of my soul
Everything starts to sweat

My heart becomes cloudy
The flow builds up till it pours

seems like the rain last forever
I let it build till I’m

about to drownd in it
Till I’m mumbling rhymes

in my sleep
Till I’m  freestyling walking

down the street

when this pen is in my grip

My soul pours through it
Just like the rain pours from the clouds

No telling how hard it’s gonna rain

There is no radar for the soul tho

So I do my best to catch

the words as the pour

READ WITH CAUTION — March 5, 2018

Written by Destiny Bergeron

She picks up my notebook and opens to an unknown page in my heart

looks up with those magnetic brown eyes and ask

which one is about me

I just laugh, shake my head  and say

which one isn’t

her eyes get really big as she fans through 350 pages

she says, you’re  kidding, I close the notebook and warn her

you might not like it

I don’t say much I try to show my love by the actions I make

Just saying it is cliche

I must make my feelings for you tangible in some way

whether it’s a kiss, my sincerity or in a bunch of nicely arranged sentences

the energy created when we are connected

is the blood of poetry

Combined with our star crossed faith, how we drift apart and together again

against lifes wind

no poet could resist writing it

So go ahead keep reading

And you’ll see how you feed

the Shakespeare in me

Make me strive to be a better me

You break my heart when you leave

You’ll see my insecurities

the fear of you realising you’re so much better than me

That you might find someone who more evenly matches your astonishing beauty

You’ll see, How I hide these fears

In fear that you’ll think less of me

The words I never say

In respect of our love

I put my fears on a page

insted of questioning our trust

right to your face

It’s not your fault

It’s my insecurities

They stay in my notebook

Where no one else can see

Poets cut, this my favorite poem

Fixed — March 4, 2018

Written by Destiny Bergeron

Rearrange my gravity

With the weight of your heart

Fixed in your orbit
You have wobbled my axis
And raised my climate

Disturbed my existence
With your astonishing presence
I’m Ieft with no defense
helpless to resist

My tides roll according
to your pull
My days are numbered by,
how times you light up my life
My Reason, what I want to discover and everthing I’ve ever known

Like the ancients followed and stars worshipped the stars                 I fallow her

Time — March 3, 2018

Written by Destiny Bergeron

It’s always ticking

Never slows or quickens

You think if you start running

You maybe able to get ahead of it

But it’s relentlessly constant

Closing in on your existence

It never sleeps will catch up

to you as you dream

Snatching you back to reality

like tic toc b@*#h it’s me

You could run your whole life

But everyone runs outta time

Nightmares of a Poet  — March 1, 2018

Nightmares of a Poet

Written by Destiny Bergeron

I’m sunbathing on the beach

The world crumbles under my feet

I start to see the will of humanity

get washed out by the sea

Tides pounding the cries of our ancestry

On my beach, the horizon is all I see

Or is it a tsunami

cuz, it seems to be

taking over the sky

Our planet doesn’t care

if we live or die

And it would be

smart to end our time

We are very selfish beings

That put wealth above

the ground we walk on

Billions of kinds of different life

has lived without destroying eachother or our planet

like we are doing

When the wave starts to black out the sun I wake up

Wondering if my dream

Is a warning of what’s to come

Maybe it’s a metaphor

for my own life

I wipe the tears from my eyes knowing the fear I felt

wasn’t only mine

What do you see

when you dream of mankind

Anomaly of Hearts — February 27, 2018

Anomaly of Hearts

Written by Destiny Bergeron

It’s beyond words

No metaphor

Or adverbs

No sentence exist

If you said you found one

You’d be lying

I got piles of poems trying

But there’s no defining

My pen feel helpless

And my heart is disappointed

With its every attempt

Fact is we don’t make since

But maybe the anomaly is

what keeps going

makes us defy

The physics that say

we’ll never make it

My Nevers — February 24, 2018

My Nevers

Why do we always try for forever

When it’s never that we really want

Never put someone else before the one you love

Never disrespect or take for granted

Never go a stray

Never think of me a different way

Never look at me with pitty

or hurt me on purpose

Never deny me your kisses

Or stop wanting wanting mine

Never stop needing me to make it right

Never want me to leave

Never think I’m weak

Never stop trying to figure me out

Neve use my insecurities against me

Never walk ahead or behind me

never be out of my reach

I could go on for an  eternity

of nevers it would take to get my forever

Heart Speaks — February 21, 2018

Heart Speaks

when I love someone

I give my life to them

I let them hold my heart

in their hands

I grant them total access

To all the forbidden parts of me

My fears my hopes and my dreams

I never let go

till they’re already gone  forever

and my heart is scared to be

back with me

Keeps reaching for them

I try to consoul it

tell it’s ok to be alone

Then it says I know this

Wtf  were you thinking

thought we were friends

You just gave me away

Like I was nothing

I know I’m not perfect

But I’m the only

heart you’ll ever get

You should be more careful with me

I know you’ve always been a good friend, never letting forget what makes me, me

Speaking up for good in me

I was fallowing your lead

it wasn’t all me

You wanted to go

when I let you go

you jump so fast

all I saw was a blur

The next time we both know

To bring a rope

So when we jump

I can always pull you home

Rhetorical — February 19, 2018

Written by Destiny Bergeron

Feels like I’m chasing time

Or maybe it’s  racing me

Is it my friend or an enemy

Do fight or defend

Is it a game I can win

Or am I pissing in the wind

Do I have a hand to play with

or is the deck stacked against me

Rhetorical  head spinning

Chicken or the egg

questioning of my conscience

leaves me no closer to knowing

where my purpose is

Times still ticking

feels like I’ve been

Behind most of my life

Trying to find my stride

But it just keeps passing my by

Fall Apart  —

Fall Apart

Written by Destiny Bergeron

lost in a lovers leap

fell hard but it was sweet

now I stand broken

at your feet

wondering if

you’ve seen me

or did I fail you

like I did me

this isn’t who I want to be

we tried and failed miserably

so I’m gonna gather  up

whats left of me

and leave you with nothing

but what we use to be

I hang my head in defeat

broken and sore from

trying to pull us back together

there’s  parts of me

that will always be yours

and pieces of you I’ll never let go

we fell for eachother

we fell apart not together

INSIGHT ….Sometimes you don’t survive the fall
